Our friend Dani invited us to join her for a fun day of cooking, using fresh vegetables from her organic garden. In between giving hugs to bunnies and feeding chickens, we made three dishes: Pear Paste, Cucumber Pickles, and one of Mallory’s new favourite recipes, Cauliflower, Potato and Leek Soup.
Cupcakes are one of Mallory’s favourite things to make, eat and talk about. She has three cupcake books and loves to read the recipes and look at the scrumptious pictures… as well as trying her hand at making each recipe.
Mallory and I cooked a truly ghastly dish to celebrate Halloween in October – we called it ‘Spooky Spaghetti with Eyeballs’ – but it was really just spaghetti with meatballs! We use healthy options – like lean beef mince, virgin olive oil, wholemeal pasta, and low-fat cheese – so we can eat our Spaghetti guilt-free! (in moderation of course).
This was one of our all-time favourite treats Mum used to make when we were kids … before Kellogg’s took away the fun of mixing melted marshmallows into rice-bubbles with their LCM bar!
